These reports provide systematic information on Syrian agriculture and international trade in agro-food products. They were elaborated by the NAPC technical staff as a  challenging first professional assignment and will be updated and extended with monographic sections in the coming years.

The State of Food and Agriculture in Syria 2007 is the third of a series of periodical reports that every each year aim at presenting providing an overview of the current situation and main issues characterizing Syrian agricultural development. The present issue highlights the period 2000-2006 and it is designed to document food and agricultural related issues through relevant indicators and most recent data.

The State of Food and Agriculture 2005 portrays the current status and the evolution of the Syrian agricultural sector, with a focus on the period 2001-2003. Designed to support economic and social development in Syria, this well-documented information source on agro-food issues intends to stimulate the debate on agricultural policies and to facilitate the mobilization of all stakeholders for the success of the policy reform process.

Syrian Agricultural Trade 2004 draws an updated picture of world and Syrian trade policies and trends with a special focus on agriculture, driving force of many developing economies.

Designed to be an instrument for researchers and scholars conducting studies on the Syrian economy’s current changeover, the report intends also to provide Syrian policy makers with functional background information on current challenges being faced by the country on its path towards global market integration.

Syrian Agricultural Trade 2003

Syrian Agricultural Trade 2003 illustrates the evolution of world and Syrian trade in line with the increasing economic and social interdependency among countries brought about by global market liberalization.

It intends to be a source of information and a tool for decision makers to consolidate Syria’s internal reform process, increase its outward orientation, build up a network of bilateral and multilateral agreements, promote trade liberalization and, thus, accelerate the country’s economic development.
