Training Course: Management of agricultural policies
Under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian
Reform Dr. Riad Hjab, the Federation of Arab Agricultural Engineers,
in corporation with the Islamic bank for Development and the
Ministry Of Agriculture held a training course on management of
agricultural policies. A twenty trainees - agricultural engineers-
from Arab countries (Yemen- Sudan -Mauritania - Palestine) , in
addition to the NAPC staff, participated in the course which was
held in the period 11-17 of September at the NAPC premises.
The course addressed topics on the evolution of agricultural
policies, overall policies, trade policies, international agreements
, as well as policies on management of natural resources. The course
was inaugurated on Sunday September 11 at 10:00 am.
Policy Forum: Measuring Food Insecurity and Malnutrition : Applications
for Syria
 The National Agricultural Policy Center organized a policy forum on “Measuring food insecurity and malnutrition - applications for
Syria“. The forum was held on March 9, at the NAPC premises, and was funded by
the project of the Arab Fund for Economic & Social Development (AFESD). The
workshop included two Presentations by Professor Hartwig de Haen and Professor
Stephan von Cramon , from University of Göttingen, and followed by extensive
discussions.

Implementing the National Program for Food Security (donors' meeting)
 Under the
patronage of H.E. Dr. Adel Safar, the Minister of Agriculture and
Agrarian Reform, and in collaboration with the State Planning
Commission and the Food and Agriculture Organization, the National
Agricultural Policy Center (NAPC) organized the Donors Meeting on
“Components and Requirements of Implementing The National Program for

Training Courses on Macroeconomics and
Introduction to Statistics and Econometrics
Two training courses on “Macroeconomics” and
“Introduction to Statistics and Econometrics” will be held by the
National Agricultural Policy Center NAPC, with the support of the Arab
Fund for Economic & Social Development (AFESD) during the period 1-30
November at the NAPC premises.
The first course will be delivered by Dr Mustafa Adam from Al Kalamon
University, while the second by Dr Kassem Al Noaimi from Damascus
University with participation of technical staff from different
departments of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAAR), General Commission
of Agricultural Scientific Research (GCASR), and the NAPC
A Training Course on Introduction to Mathematics
The National Agricultural Policy Center NAPC, with the
support of the Arab Fund for Economic & social Development, held
a training course on introduction to Mathematics. The course was
delivered by Michele Vollaro from Campania Research
Center in Italy, in the period 17-28
October at the NAPC premises, and was attended by participants
from different departments of the Ministry of Agriculture,
General Commission of Agricultural Scientific Research (GCASR), and the NAPC.
